OWIT-South Florida Announces Winners of the

2012 International Business Woman of the Year (IBWOY) Awards

Carmen Taylor, Annette Taddeo-Goldstein and Carmenza Jaramillo

to be Honored at Awards Ceremony on November 15 at the Intercontinental Hotel Doral

MIAMI, FL (November 5, 2012) - The South Florida chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT-South Florida), a premier global networking organization for professionals in international business, is proud to announce the winners of the 2012 International Business Woman of the Year (IBWOY) Awards.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Intercontinental Hotel Doral on 2505 NW 87th AvenueMiamiFL 33172.

 Carmen Taylor, managing director of cargo sales for Latin America of American Airlines Cargo, has been selected winner in the Large Company category. A 35-year American Airlines veteran, Taylor offers American’s customers guidance and support in accessing markets in 34 countries in the Americas. Before assuming her current role, Carmen was regional sales manager for American Airlines.

 The winner in the Small/Medium Company category is Annette Taddeo-Goldstein, founder and CEO ofLanguageSpeak, a nationally renowned translation services company headquartered in MiamiFlorida and providing services in 240 languages. LanguageSpeak was ranked a Top 500 Hispanic American Owned Business in the U.S in 2011 and a Top 100 Privately-held Business in Florida in 2011. Annette was the Democratic nominee for Congress and the only Latina challenger in a federal race in 2008.

 Carmenza Jaramillo, director of the US office of Proexport ColombiaColombia’s official investment, tourism and export promotion agency, will receive award in the Service category. Recognized locally and internationally as a advocate for the Colombian government abroad, Carmenza formerly headed the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce, was Consul General of Colombia in Miami and Ambassador of Colombia in India before assuming her current role.

 Past IBWOY winners Romaine Seguin of UPS Americas, Joan Levien Robertson of Robertson Forwarding Company and Barbara Pimentel of Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association will co-present this year’s awards.

 Ana Recio Harvey, director of the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Women's Business Ownership, will deliver the keynote address; and Janice Gonzalez, President and CEO of JGB Communications, will preside as Mistress of Ceremonies.

 Now in its 11th year, the IBWOY Awards recognizes outstanding women for their significant contributions to international trade and business in South Florida through their professional and community activities and mentoring of other local women. More than 200 of the most influential members of the South Floridainternational business community, including past IBWOY Awards winners, will gather to pay tribute to this year’s honorees.

 In honor of National Scholarship Month celebrated in November, IBWOY will host a silent auction and donate proceeds to scholarships for women pursuing higher education degrees in International Business at local universities. Some of this year's auction items include a:

•    Weekend stay at the San Juan Intercontinental Hotel (valued at $400)

•    Weekend car loan for an Audi A6 from The Collection (valued at $2,400)

•    Two-night weekend stay at the Townhouse Hotel in South Beach (valued at $400)

•    Johnson & Wales private chef's dinner for six (valued at $1,000)

•    Spokesperson training by communications firm IGC (valued at $3500)
